Cute and Educational Things for Kids

Yes it's real and yes it is a fun educational toy for kids of potty training age :)

Potty Monkey begins with an adorable, 15" stuffed monkey in a diaper and underwear. But inside this cuddly exterior, lurks sophisticated technology designed to teach children how to use the toilet.
A timer of some sort is built into the Potty Monkey. Every 30 minutes (or 90 minutes, if you choose), the Monkey will say, "I need to go potty. Let's go potty."

A fun video game and teaching all about animals is a win win situation :)

A little known DS game from Scholastic called Animal Genius. This game not only kept John's kids entertained for many hours, but it also taught them a thing or two along the way. He talks about how this has even affected the way they play with their (animal) toys:

"After playing the game for a while, it became clear that it was having an effect on my kids' level of knowledge about animals. Particularly, they were starting to understand concepts like what a "predator" is, and would start to spout random facts about different species of animals at the breakfast table. My youngest, who was barely two at the time, would randomly tell me that "wolves are predators" or that "polar bears are the largest kind of bear."
[it] seems to have informed the way they play with their plastic animals too. Toys are no longer randomly distributed on the bedroom floor. Lions are kept together, and kept quite separate from the zebras. Elephants and turtles are afforded due respect."
