New Born Baby Deer Rescue

I am so thankful for people like this in the world.

"Late in the evening a friend knocked on our door with a new born baby deer in her arms, not more than an hour old..."

I hope he does go back to see them one day.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

"My friend called a local vet (who's a friend of her's) for advice and filled a large lidded container with warm water and snuggled the 3 babies into place above it which helped to warm them up. By the time the vet called in to collect them they were looking a lot less ill and were showing signs of life - they've now been re-homed at a local Hedgehog sanctuary/rescue centre."

Pretty Little Flash Games

I have a little finger injury and I will be "away" healing it up, so here is a wonderful site called Orsinal that's full of games! They are beautiful flash games created by Ferry Halim and you may find yourself lost in them for a bit, but you can't blame me, you have been warned! Have fun and see you soon.

Rick said "someone accidentally pasted this into a post instead of a chart on Depression-era stock prices"
Which just proves sometimes what you need in any situation is...

a Chihuahua pup in a red sweater!

Oh baby! Otter born at Aquarium
JENKS - After weeks of speculation, it's time for a baby shower, or rather a splash at the Oklahoma Aquarium. A one-month-old North American River Otter baby, or pup is taking its first public steps and swimming with mama otter's help.

On September 26th, biologists were on high alert, as the female exhibited behavior of going into labor and then remained in her den for an extended length of time. Otters can be very defensive, so it was with great caution that Aquarium staff peered into the den and verified a baby had been born. It has just been in the last few days that the mother otter started bringing the baby out of the den.

Curiosity over the pup's gender will have to wait. It may be a full year before biologists can identify if the baby is a male or female.

Treacle's Wild Ride

It was as if they couldn't decide what to laugh at first, the slow state of traffic that even a wee hamster was moving faster than they were, or that there was a hamster in traffic! Luckily Treacle's journey has a happy ending!

ASTONISHED drivers crawling through rush-hour traffic watched themselves being overtaken ... by a hamster in its playball.

Treacle’s tiny legs were a blur as her plastic globe travelled faster and faster.
Afraid that the little rodent would run herself to death, Nick Smith leapt from his car and snatched her from the gutter.

Now Treacle is set to be reunited with her worried owner after news of her adventure spread around Carlisle. Electrical engineer Nick, 50, from nearby Wreay, said: “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing – a hamster overtaking us in its plastic ball.

“It was quite happily trundling along but getting near to the verge and I thought it might roll out into the traffic.”

Several days later Nick was contacted by a family whose daughter had put the hamster into the exercise ball while she cleaned out its cage.
Treacle had somehow been able to escape through the front door and into the road.

Shamu, Another Big Kitty at Prince Chunk's Shelter!

Another big kitty has been rescued and brought to the same shelter Prince Chunk stayed. I am glad someone found this big fella, the shelter will be contacting some of the 400 people who applied for Chunk!

A second fat cat has been dropped off at the same New Jersey animal shelter that introduced the world to a 44-pound tabby named Prince Chunk or Powder, reports the New York Daily News.

His name: Shamu. Weight: 35 pounds.

Shamu was found Aug. 26 roaming outside an abandoned home in Camden and delivered to the shelter. It seemed the cat had been living in the unoccupied home for a few weeks, though he clearly had no problem finding food, said Catherine Harr, board president of the Camden County Animal Shelter.

Kaya the Baby Rhino is a Small "Immense Joy"

Kaya's name means "immense joy" in the Pali dialect of Asia

Kaya is the newest Zoo Baby at the San Diego Zoo. She is also quite the precocious little lady:
The mother also showed Kaya into one of the water holes where the 300-pound calf had her first swimming experience.

"I haven’t seen a calf as young as Kaya get that deep into a watering hole," said Andy Blue, Animal Care Manager for the Wild Animal Park.
"She took right to it and swam around her mother and back to the shallow end where she could stand."

Teddy Bear Phone Concept Is Too Cute for Words

Willcom recently presented its "Kuma Phone" (translates to "Bear Phone") concept at the 2008 Good Design Expo. The Kuma Phone is literally just that--a teddy bear that's also a mobile phone. The teddy bear can house your SIM card and can really be used to accept and make calls. Using it is actually as simple as placing the doll on your ears just like you would a conventional phone. In fact, you can even program up to four speed dial numbers on it--one for each paw. You just pinch a paw to activate internal sensors and call a number.

Brave Bella Kitty Survives 70-Mile Trip Under Truck

She stayed calm knowing soon she would get some help, she stayed put and now has a wild ride memory! Good Kitty! Glad you waiting and didn't jump because now you are safe!

Bella the cat went for a 70-mile ride, precariously perched on the spare tire under owner Gil Smith's truck. Smith drove for 2 1/2 hours before he stopped and heard her frantic meows. Bella was shaky and tired, but otherwise fine.

Near cat-astrophe costs Gilbert pet a few lives
GILBERT, Ariz. - A cat survived a 2 1/2-hour trip on a spare tire under her owner's truck. Gil Smith recently drove from his Gilbert home 70 miles away for a business meeting in Kearny. When he got out of the truck, he heard a cat in distress and realized it was his.
Smith said the cat, Bella, was hysterical, shaky and tired, but was smart enough to know not to jump off the tire as the truck was moving.

Bella the cat went for a 70-mile ride, precariously perched on the spare tire under owner Gil Smith's truck. Smith drove for 2 1/2 hours before he stopped and heard her frantic meows. Bella was shaky and tired, but otherwise fine.

Smith and his wife have adopted three indoor cats, three goats and three chickens. But Smith said Bella, an outdoor cat the couple adopted years ago, has a special place in his wife's heart.

Smith said he canceled his meeting with a state Department of Economic Security official who had driven 50 miles to get to Kearny so he could get Bella home.
It was either that, or, he jokes, get a divorce.
