Oh Noes! Fakey Friday

"It's bad enough that Billy had to keep an eye out for cats, hawks and territorial squirrels. The last thing he needed was grief from an Ewok."

Oh Noes!

The photographer enjoys befriending and photographing the local chipmunks. Do they know the exciting lives they seem to lead or do they just pose for food? Does it really matter? How cute are Ewoks and chipmunks together? Very Cute! Click through to his set and see all the other adventures the chipmunks get involved in while simply having lunch.

Pebblebet

I just love the way some people think. She has collected pebbles with an eye for letters and numbers and their freeform organic shapes show us how beautiful our alphabet and numeral shapes can be.

Liu Bolin is a young Beijing based artist. The ‘Camoflague’ series is an exploration of human nature and animal instincts which features Chinese citizens painted to blend into their surroundings. Famous Movie Bugs :)

Famous bugs: Some of the most charming characters in movies and books are insects
By Lisa Davis, McClatchy Newspapers
OK, OK, the robots are super-cool, but there is an overlooked star of the movie ``WALL-E,'' a character who is loyal, brave and charming.

It's the cockroach.
WALL-E's pet roach, his only companion on a wasted Earth, lives in a Twinkie, loves to give tickles, survives innumerable squishings and waits patiently for WALL-E to return from outer space. Who knew a cockroach could be so cute?

It put us in mind of some other lovable bugs in pop culture. If you don't think insects can be lovable, well, grasshopper, you have much to learn.
Have some fun exploring these fictional bugs _ and real-life ones, too!

Sir Nils Olav, The Black And White Knight

LONDON - Elton John, Paul McCartney and Sony boss Howard Stringer have all got one. Now it's the turn of a three-foot high King Penguin.

Six-year-old Nils Olav was granted a knighthood and the title of "Sir" on Friday, on behalf of Norway's King Harald V. Loudon. The title was bestowed by a British major general. Nils took the ceremony, which included having a sword dubbed on each side of his head, and listening to a marching band in front of a crowd of 500-odd spectators, "in his stride," a spokeswoman for Edinburgh Zoo, where he is based, told Forbes.com. "He really enjoyed it. He knows he is special."

Sir Nils Olav, as he will now be known officially, is the third penguin named Nils Olav to be an honorary member and mascot of the Norwegian King's Guard. (Each was replaced when his predecessor died.) The first was adopted by a guard in 1972 and over the years Nils Olav had been promoted to the rank of "Colonel in Chief."
