Muggles for Mutts on Saturday
The Humane Society of Sarasota County will host its most magical event of the year Saturday, Aug. 23, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2331 15th St., Sarasota.
Prepare to step into the wizarding world of Harry Potter for the first "Muggles for Mutts" adoption event. There will be amazing adoption specials on HSSC's homeless dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, rabbits and other pets. All dog and cat adoptions will be just $45!
The goal is to have as many pets as possible disappear from the shelter and magically appear in great homes with qualified adopters. Those not ready for a pet to appear in their homes just now are still invited to stop by for the wizardly fun.
You can get a kiss from your favorite Potter pooch; enjoy spectacular face painting; visit with interesting vendors and animal groups; and dine on magically grilled hot dogs and burgers, delicious dragon chips and unicorn soda.
Enjoy a tour of the shelter and HSSC’s new mobile adoption center. Also, be sure to bring a photo of your pet for a reading with Psychic to the Pets Lori Michel. If you come in costume as your favorite "Harry Potter" character, you will receive a prize.
All those in attendance may also enter a mystical raffle for a chance to win a copy of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" signed by U.S. illustrator Mary GrandPré!
Muggles for Mutts is the perfect way to enjoy fun "Harry Potter"-themed activities while finding a best friend from among HSSC’s many animals in need of good homes. The Humane Society of Sarasota County invites all Muggles to attend this wizardly event for Harry Potter fans and animal lovers of all ages.
