Saving the Baby Spotted Skunk!


A sweet wee story of a small skunk getting rescued and set free! I have never seen one of these in real life, so cute!!

This baby about the size of a small squirrel took cover in the wheel of our SUV parked in the drive way. Our hunter house cat was outside on a leash and apparently scared the skunk to hide and defend itself. We live on the edge of the desert. When we picked it up from the inner wheel it sprayed, but we wore gloves so not to worry. Inside the bucket it would thump loudly to appear or sound much larger than it really is.Later that night we released it into a large gold course in Boulder City. It hopped away into tall grass in the wee hours of the morning.

Here is another picture of more kind people releasing one of these nice looking if not nice smelling cuties!
