I found the blog because out of the blue I remembered how wonderful the art was in the street scenes of the Disney film "The Aristocats", and was very surprised and happy to find a blog that knows people do want to see all that art behind the action.

Yesterday we were doing the very cute homey thing of choosing flooring from Lumber Liquidators.. and out of the blue a lady (in this very very small showroom) begins speaking very loudly into her cellphone. There is no way we could NOT hear her she was maybe 3 feet away. In a classic New Yawk accent she began to profusely apologize to someone saying.. she was wrong, it was all her fault, and from now on when she crossed the line and overstepped in her words.. "just say MUSKRAT!"

I could have died trying not to laugh. Of course we have been using this now in many combos, starting pretend fights so one of us can say "MUSKRAT!", pretending the cats are saying it.. It's good advice really. Can you keep fighting if someone says MUSKRAT? Maybe but.. thought I might use this opportunity to show this magical Peacemaker rodent, and to post perhaps the only song that has ever or will ever be written about romantic Muskrats :)

Why do the colors of one girl's lavender stairs (that have been that way for years) bother someone so much that she might go to jail if she does not paint over them? Why should ONE person be able to control the actions of another in their own home? Read Annakim Violette's story here, it is an issue of creativity and control. Would you like ONE person to force you to change the way your home looks because they didn't like it? How much is someone truly harmed if they see a bit of color on a stairway as they pass by? It's a scary thing to think that someones dull conformity can put a creative person in jail because they are not dull conformists like themselves. It's not just about stair color, it's the scary spectre of freedom of expression being removed just because one person doesn't like what you do with it.
