Lemur twins a rare arrival

Willowbank Wildlife Reserve is celebrating the arrival of twin lemurs.

The twins, which arrived on Saturday morning, are the first to have been born in Christchurch. Park manager Jeremy McGuire said it was "reasonably rare" for lemurs to give birth to twins.

"Everyone is excited. She seems to be a really good mum, and the twins seem pretty content as well." They will be fully grown in about two months, but will suckle until five-months of age.
